Permanent or Temporary Disconnections
If you are undergoing renovations and need to temporarily disconnection your electricity supply, then GEC can help. We can arrange for the meter to be removed and the electricity supply cut off until you have completed any ground or structural work. Once this work has been completed the utility can be re-connected on an agreed date. You will need to speak to your utility provider to notify them of the disconnection.

Since the electricity is disconnected at the main supply (which is on public ground), the length of the process will depend on the required traffic management and the availability of engineers in your area. Once we’ve spoken with you and obtained all the information we need, we can provide you with a more accurate timescale and completion date.
We can’t give you a straight yes or no answer to this, as it depends entirely on the capacity of electricity that’s required. Get in touch with GEC and we’ll be able to look into this for you.
